Influencers Andrew and Tristian Tate have been charged with numerous criminal offenses in the United Kingdom.
On May 28, the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that it had authorized a series of charges against the brothers, alleging the two had committed numerous sex crimes.
38-year-old Andrew Tate, a former kickboxer who has become a major name in the online world for his controversial opinions, was hit with 10 charges including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain, relating to three women.
Meanwhile, his brother, Tristian, is facing 11 charges relating to one woman, with the alleged offenses including rape and human trafficking.
“These charging decisions followed receipt of a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police,” a CPS spokesperson said, as per Sky News.
“A European Arrest Warrant was issued in England in 2024, and as a result the Romanian courts ordered the extradition to the UK of Andrew and Tristan Tate. However, the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first.”
Back in July 2024, Andrew and Tristan Tate won a court battle to remove the restriction from leaving Romania and flew to Florida. This move angered Florida Governor Ron Desantis, who said the two were “not welcome” in the state.
Andrew and Tristan Tate were first arrested on December 29, 2022, along with two other suspects while Romanian forces investigated them for alleged sexual assault and exploitation.
