Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced over 1000 overseas job opportunities for Nakuru residents.

Mutua, in a statement shared via his official social media accounts on Sunday, November 24, 2024, stated that the ongoing National Job Recruitment Program will be heading to Nakuru county on Monday, November 25.

According to Mutua, the job opportunities for the residents of Nakuru have been secured in countries such as Australia, Qatar, Poland, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Germany.

The recruitment exercise will happen at Rift Valley National Polytechnic in Nakuru.

“After successful recruitments in Machakos, Makueni, and Kitui counties, we are thrilled to bring our National Job Recruitment Program to Nakuru City!” Mutua announced.

Mutua encouraged potential candidates to carry their national ID cards, relevant academic certificates, updated CVs and a passport for those who have.

He further stated that successful candidates for some opportunities could be flying out before Christmas and start earning an income immediately.

According to Mutua, the program is part of President William Ruto’s unwavering commitment to create both local and international job opportunities for Kenyans.

“This is an incredible opportunity to secure a job abroad. For some positions, successful candidates could be flying out before Christmas and start earning an income immediately. This initiative is part of H.E. President Dr. @WilliamsRuto’s unwavering commitment to create both local and international job opportunities for Kenyans. I am proud to be delivering on this promise, a key pillar of the President’s agenda for the nation,” Mutua stated.

Mutua last week launched the nationwide recruitment programme aimed at securing jobs for Kenyans abroad in efforts to address rising unemployment.

The programme, unveiled at the Machakos Technical Institute for the Blind, seeks to provide employment opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled workers across all 47 counties.

Mutua had also in October unveiled plans to connect one million youth to jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities annually.

Speaking on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the CS indicated that the push to address the country’s unemployment would be addressed through the 1 Million Next Level Initiative.

Mutua touted the newly launched initiative to help bridge the unemployment gap in the country.

Besides launching the 1 Million Next Level Initiative, CS Mutua introduced the Kenya Skills Hub, a virtual one-stop platform designed to provide young people with access to crucial information on skills development and work-based learning.
