Kenya’s Delta eSports officially in Group of Death after beating Ghana’s Aura233

Truth be told, I had a different headline in mind before this match.

Ghana’s Aura233 had impressed with a dominant performance against Nigeria’s Sierra 7 in their first Group A match, and when the Nigerians handed Kenya’s Delta eSports a defeat, I was ready to write Delta eSports bow out of Carry1st Africa Cup tournament.

But Michael’s team had other plans, proving me wrong with a gutsy and electrifying comeback.

Their turning point came in the Hardpoint phase, where they fought with unrelenting resolve, determined to stay alive in the competition.

Delta eSports pulled off a nail-biting 7-5 victory in Search and Destroy, followed by a dramatic 2-1 win in Control, leaving Kenyan fans euphoric and Ghanaians stunned.

This result threw Group A into chaos, with each team—Delta eSports, Aura233, and Sierra 7—now holding one win apiece, making it officially the ‘Group of Death.’

Meanwhile, in Group B, South Africa’s NXG had already secured two wins to top the group, leaving Morocco’s SUN eSports and Kenya’s CZY eSports to fight for the second qualifying slot.

SUN eSports triumphed, eliminating CZY eSports and advancing to the next stage.

The Grand Final matches are set for Sunday, November 24, 2024. Stay tuned for what promises to be an electrifying experience!
