Hawk Tuah girl hits out at tennis star Nick Kyrgios after he slammed her surprise appearance at Jake Paul’s win

‘Hawk Tuah’ girl Haliey Welch has responded after tennis star Nick Kyrgios criticised her surprise performance in Jake Paul’s match against Mike Perry on Saturday.

After the viral sensation was met with rapturous response at the Amelie Arena, Kyrgios wrote on social media: “There is no connection between fame and being good at anything anymore.” He backed up his criticism with a laughing emoji.

Speak with TMZWelch admitted that the tennis star’s comments have no meaning to her.

“Let me put it this way: I don’t wake up and start hating on someone else,” Welch told the outlet. “I really don’t understand why people do that.

“I mean, they have their own opinion, they’re entitled to it, I don’t care. If they wake up and feel that way, then so be it. I don’t worry about it.

Still, Welch admitted she enjoyed her first live boxing match, saying, “It was really exciting. I’ve never seen anything like it in real life.”

When asked what was the craziest thing about Paul’s sixth-round knockout of the former UFC fighter, Welch cited the cut Perry received above his eyebrow.

‘When he raised an eyebrow, I thought: [shocked]”There’s no way,” she said. “You see spit flying around, sweat and everything, and I thought, ‘There’s no way I can see that right now.’”

She also talked about her newfound fame and possibly hiring security when she’s in busier places, and that she’s not used to people asking for photos when she’s out in public.

“They were a little under-protected at the time, but they got us a little bit more. I’m not used to that, I think I got a little taste of it.”

‘In a place like here, where it’s busy, maybe [hire security]. But I’m fine at home. I know pretty much everyone there.’
