His sentiments come after President William Ruto nominated some key members of the ODM Party for cabinet positions.

In a 15-minute video shared on his X account on Thursday, July 25, 2024, Salasya, elected on the DAP-K party ticket under the Azimio coalition, noted the need for clarity within ODM ranks.

ODM must decide, ODM wanataka kuwa kama fisi, wako kwa serikali, wako kwa opposition,” Salasya noted.

Salasya said that it is impossible to be part of the government while simultaneously opposing it unless the constitution is amended to eliminate the roles of minority and majority leaders in parliament.

“You cannot be in government and be in opposition unless we change the constitution and say that parliament shall have no minority and majority leaders. I want to tell the ODM members that you have to decide,” Salasya declared.

In his parting shot, Salasya asserted that Azimio is no longer viable proposing that Gen Z should nominate him as their representative to fly the opposition flag in parliament as the opposition voice

“Now Gen Zs should remain as opposition. Ata Kalonzo anafaa aongee aseme kama kuna Azimio hama hakuna, there is no marriage here, Azimio is done. What is remaining is a merger.”

“Gen Zs should nominate me as their representative in parliament as the opposition. Mambo ya Azimio, Azimio ishakufa,” He added.
