Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct thorough office- and field-based investigations into policy violations, and ensure all investigative activities comply with WFP’s standards, guidelines, and applicable regulations.
  2. Manage and monitor the workflow of individual investigation cases within designated timeframes.
  3. Participate in assessments of complaints and allegations, and provide detailed recommendations.
  4. Develop detailed reports and ad hoc briefs based on investigative findings and make recommendations to improve operational controls and efficiency.
  5. Assess operational activities for fraud and corruption risks and formulate recommendations for senior management.
  6. Offer guidance to WFP employees on investigation protocols, and provide support to staff assisting in investigations.
  7. Regularly evaluate the progress and potential impact of investigations, offering strategic advice to colleagues.
  8. Collaborate with local officials, governments, and external organizations, coordinating efforts to facilitate investigative work.
  9. Work effectively with control and monitoring functions to ensure proper alignment.
  10. Contribute to the development of investigative policies and procedures, sharing best practices and lessons learned.

Qualifications and Experience
Education

  • A university degree in Criminology, Investigations, Law, Audit, Accounting, or a related field is essential.
  • Additional formal training or certification in fraud examination, investigation methodologies, or law enforcement is preferred.

Experience

  • At least five years of relevant postgraduate professional experience in conducting criminal or administrative investigations.
