A Day in the Life

You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research on the macroeconomic status, healthcare system dynamics, medical device market, and competitive landscape in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia.

Through this internship you will have an opportunity to work for one of the biggest medical device companies, develop you knowledge of healthcare and the industry and expand your professional network. And above all you will have an opportunity to contribute to our company effort to unlock access to healthcare and critical therapies in Central Africa.

Internship details:
•    Start date: January
•    Duration: 3 months 
•    Working hours: 40 h/week with flexibility (exams and holiday period)
•    Working model: hybrid (initial onboarding period in the office)
•    Based in Nairobi, Kenya

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
•    Conduct in-depth research of the macroeconomic conditions of assigned countries relevant for healthcare sector and medical device industry
•    Support with assessing the medical device market, including market size, growth potential, and key players
•    Map out available healthcare financing, including foreign investment 
•    Help to identify key short, mid and long term opportunities for medical device industry 

Required Knowledge:
•    Currently pursuing or recently completed a master’s degree in economics, public health, business, market research, or a related field.
•    Proficiency in English
•    Based in Nairobi, Kenya
•    Strong analytical and research skills with ability to synthetize and report out
•    Strong analytical and research skills with ability to synthetize and report out
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability 
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Would be a plus:
•    Familiarity with the healthcare sector and/or medical device market
•    Previous experience in market research or data analysis
