The gospel music community is mourning the loss of Jesse Prather, a gifted musician and dedicated minister of music, who has passed away at the age of 45.

Born in Alton, Illinois, Jesse’s passion for gospel music led him to serve as Minister of Music at Solomon’s Temple Church. He founded and led the ensemble Committed II Christ, sharing his faith through powerful performances and recordings.

His albums, including Lit (2020) and The Word of God (2023), featured songs that resonated deeply with listeners, such as “My Soul Says Yes” and “So Glad I’m Saved.” Jesse’s influence extended beyond music; he was a mentor and spiritual guide to many in the St. Louis and Metro East communities.

As we remember Jesse Prather, we honor his contributions to gospel music and his unwavering dedication to ministry. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift.
