WAHU KAGWI OPENS UP ON 2 MISCARRIAGES BEFORE MIRACLE BABY

Veteran musician and entrepreneur Wahu Kagwi recently spoke about the heartbreak of having two miscarriages. She shared on social media the difficult experience she and her husband, David Mathenge alias Nameless, faced while trying to have another baby.

“I had 2 miscarriages in the last couple of years after really trying to get pregnant. Let me tell you… the pain. It was unbearable,” Wahu revealed.

“So much heartache. Doctors had told me I could still try again, maybe explore IVF and other alternatives, but it was not a guarantee that the pregnancy would ‘hold’.”

Wahu explained how the fear of another loss made her hesitant to try again.

“I couldn’t bear the thought of trying again and then losing yet another pregnancy. So as much as I still wanted a 3rd child, I gave up trying and said if God wanted to give me a baby, he would. One year went by, two, three… nothing,” she shared.

Wahu Kagwi Speaks on Rainbow Baby

In a heartfelt moment, Wahu described how her rainbow baby finally came to be, though the pregnancy was filled with anxiety and worry.

“Towards the end of 2021, I remember thinking to give up the dream. But anytime I saw a lady pregnant with her 3rd child, it was such a trigger for me,” she said.

But Wahu decided to change her mindset in January 2022.

“One night around midnight, I decided to exchange the pain for gratitude. I thanked God for the 2 children he had blessed me with, as I let go in gratitude for what God had already blessed me with.”

Wahu recounted how the universe began sending her signs, but she remained skeptical.

She reminded people to be sensitive when discussing the subject of children, as one never truly knows what others might be going through.

“One evening in February, I posted this: ‘If you are waiting on God for a child, may he hear you. Amen,’ on my Facebook. I was anxious my entire pregnancy with Shi.”

Wahu continued, “I was extremely excited yet worried that something would happen. I couldn’t believe that God had just decided to hook me up just like that. Is this what they call imposter syndrome? And why was I anxious about publicly announcing? What if I did and something happened?”

Wahu has advised others who have suffered child loss to seek counseling. “With the benefit of hindsight, I should have gone for counseling, and I strongly advise anyone who has ever suffered a child loss to see a counselor.”

Wahu’s journey ended happilt with the birth of her daughter. “On October 3rd, after approximately 36 weeks, my Shishi came into the world. A tiny baby, 2.4 kgs, but healthy and strong,” she wrote.

Ending on a joyful note, Wahu shared a video of her baby girl dancing happily around the house in cute pajamas. “Here we are now, I am forever grateful,” she expressed.
