City lawyer Donald Kipkorir on Saturday, July 20, 2024, outlined the characteristics of a true patriot.
Taking to his official X account, Kipkorir said that a true loyalist will not only support the government when it delivers on its promises but also criticize when it blunders and nudges it to introduce new reforms that will benefit citizens.
“TRUE PATRIOT supports the Government when it delivers on its promises, nudges it to introduce new reforms & criticizes it when it errs! And pray the Government succeeds,” Kipkorir wrote.
He went ahead to call out individuals who oppose everything about the government on a tribal basis, stating that it is shameful to show support when their kingsmen join the said government.
“BUT to Oppose everything about the Government when your Tribal King is out then suddenly & without shame support everything about it when he joins the Government is IDOLATRY & HARLOTRY!”
Kipkorir, Raila fallout
On July 18, 2024, the flamboyant lawyer disclosed that he had ended his support for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga after Baba agreed to be part of the national dialogue.
Kipkorir further stated that his loyalty has shifted to Gen Z, adding that he hopes the youth will someday transform the country.
“Between Gen Z & Raila Odinga, I choose Gen Z. With the greatest respect for his hitherto contribution to our democracy, I hereby end my support for Baba that began in 2005.
“I hope & pray Gen Z will lead us to Canaan in my lifetime. MY ALLEGIANCE & LOYALTY TO RAILA ODINGA ENDED TODAY .. ADIEU BABA!
“Gen Z has given me hope that Kenya without TRIBALISM, CORRUPTION, NEPOTISM & CRONYISM is possible. A Kenya that values all her children over TRIBE, CREED, CLASS, GENDER & AGE. A Kenya without political violence,” he wrote.
Adding that; “A Kenya where Police don’t KILL or ABDUCT. A Kenya where you don’t need to bribe to get tenders from the Government or bribe to be paid for unpaid bills. It was a Kenya that for long I believed it is a CANAAN that Baba Raila Odinga would lead us.
“Now that Baba was unable to lead us & Gen Z without a Leader has taken the baton, it saddens me that Baba wants to derail this transformative moment.”

Political coalition
According to Kipkorir, any political coalition formed after general elections will be a fraud on the constitution.
“The Party or Parties Coalition that wins General Elections forms the Government. The Party or Parties Coalition that loses forms the Opposition. This is the Spirit, Intention & Hintendment of the Constitution. Any other political arrangement will be a fraud on the Constitution. It will be conmanship. It will be corruption Government is Government. Opposition is Opposition,” he stated.
