Jimmy Fallon issues savage take on Biden’s COVID diagnosis: ‘First POSITIVE news he’s had in months’

Jimmy Fallon made pointed jokes about Biden’s COVID diagnosis during the Tonight Show opening monologue.

“The positive thing is this is the first POSITIVE news he’s had in months,” Fallon joked to the laughing audience.

He continued to savagely mock the president, saying, “That’s right — Biden has COVID. Luckily he can’t spread it because the Democrats have been distancing themselves from him since the debate.”

“Biden was having fatigue, coughing fits, brain fog… and then he got COVID,” the 49-year-old comedian joked.

“Fortunately, Biden is expected to make a full recovery. His doctors say he will be back to 60 percent soon.”

Fallon’s hilarious take on the diagnosis came after news broke on Wednesday that President Biden had contracted the disease and was quarantined at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Bill Maher also ridiculed Biden on Friday night’s episode of Real Time.

“Good news: Joe Biden has only mild COVID symptoms: headache, loss of sense of smell, and inability to predict the storm,” he posted on X.

Maher also joked about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump: “I’m glad you’re okay… because if you weren’t, I wouldn’t be able to keep making jokes about you.”

He then complimented the Republican Party on a “very good convention,” right up until the end, when Trump delivered a “93-minute” speech.

“Joe Biden has spent the last three weeks giving Americans every reason to doubt his mental acuity … and then Trump stands up and says, ‘Hold my beer,’” said Maher, who launched a fierce attack on candidates from both parties.

A few days ago, Maher launched his latest attack on President Biden, claiming that there is “no chance” the 81-year-old will become the Democratic presidential nominee.

The ‘Real Time’ host recently told The Rubin Report that Biden will eventually be forced to drop out of the race because “the pressure is going to continue to mount.” However, he stressed that there is “still time” for Democrats to turn the tide.

“It doesn’t have to be a disaster,” said Maher, who earlier in Friday’s episode of “Real Time” claimed the president was “toast.”

Maher spoke with the show’s host, conservative commentator Dave Rubin, in an episode released Tuesday, though the episode appeared to have been recorded before the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Rubin, a former Democrat turned staunch Republican who supported Ron DeSantis’ presidential campaign, began their conversation by calling Biden’s downward spiral an “epic disaster” for Democrats.

Maher countered, however, that hope is not lost as long as Biden steps aside. He even speculated that the left could easily defeat Trump if they nominate a moderate and charismatic candidate.

“This is a great opportunity, America loves new,” he said.

“It almost doesn’t matter who it is. Just someone new. The less we know about them, the better.”

Maher directed his comments toward the Democratic Party, continuing, “Just get anybody who’s not 100 years old, has a ‘D’ behind their name, and is some kind of centrist, and you can win this election. Just give us that choice.”

On last week’s episode of Real Time, Maher predicted the exact date he believes Joe Biden will step down from the presidential race, and offered an optimistic view of who could replace him.

The 68-year-old comedian named possible replacements including Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris and Gretchen Whitmer, while insisting that “Biden is toast.”

He joked that “when” the 81-year-old steps down, he will choose August 9 as the date — the same day Richard Nixon became the only president to step down in 1974.
