Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) party leader Eugene Wamalwa has condemned the arrest of political activist Boniface Mwangi.
Taking to his X account, Wamalwa stated that the abductions, enforced disappearance and killings of Kenyans constitute crimes against humanity adding that the gross violation of Human rights should stop.
“Time to Stop this BRUTO Regime’s continued gross violation of Human rights, abductions, enforced disappearances and killings of Kenyans, which constitute crimes against humanity,” he wrote.
Martha Karua also condemned the incident stating that the abductions and numerous murders of citizens must stop.
“These abductions and murders must stop @HakiKNCHR @thekhrc @achpr_cadhp a@AUC_PAPS @AUC_MoussaFaki @UNHumanRights unless concerted action is taken they will continue to abduct and murder #DrainTheSwamp #RutoMustGo,” Karua condemned.

Boniface arrest
According to Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Faith Odhiambo, the activist is being held at Kamukunji police station.
On the morning of Sunday, October 27, 2024, the activist’s wife Njeri Mwangi via her X account revealed her husband’s abduction, saying he was picked up from their Lukenya home in Machakos county by six unknown people.
According to Njeri, six unknown people walked into the home at about 7:15 am and picked up Mwangi.
“This morning at around 7.15, six uninformed people went to courage base and forcefully took my husband Boniface Mwangi from the house,” Njeri wrote on X.

His arrest comes after the activist, on Saturday, October 26, 2024, via his X account, urged citizens to participate in the StanChart Nairobi Marathon wearing the national flag as part of their sports gear of the day.
He also encouraged those who would turn up to wear bandanas with anti-government slogans.

You are a crucial part of the race; your cheering will motivate and energise the athletes and help reform our country in the process.
