A devastating incident at Oulton Park during the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship race has claimed the lives of two riders and injured six more.
Eleven riders went down in a series of falls at the first bend of the first lap on Monday afternoon.
Shane Richardson, 29, and Owen Jenner, 21, were both fatally injured in the collision.
After receiving treatment at the circuit medical center and trackside, Jenner, who was racing for Rapid Honda, passed away following a devastating head injury.
Richardson, an Australian rider with the Astro-JJR Hippo Suzuki team, suffered severe chest injuries and died before arriving at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Richardson had finished eighth in last year’s championship standings with 146 points, while Jenner was in his second year of competition.
