The Tharaka Nithi County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a corporate body established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012, pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. The Board’s mandate, as outlined in Section 59 of the County Governments Act, includes appointing individuals to county public service positions and confirming appointments.

1. Nutrition and Dietetics Officer (Job Group “K”)

Requirements for Appointment
Applicants must:
- Be Kenyan citizens.
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines:
- Foods, Nutrition, and Dietetics
- Dietetics/Clinical Nutrition
- Food Science and Nutrition
from a recognized institution.
- Be registered by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI).
- Possess a valid Practicing License from KNDI.
- Hold a Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
- Have relevant working experience (an added advantage).
Duties and Responsibilities
The Nutrition and Dietetics Officer will report to the supervisor and perform the following duties:
- Prepare and implement therapeutic diets for patients.
- Provide guidelines on therapeutic diets for managing existing and emerging diseases in health facilities, home-based care, and other institutions.
- Treat patients using specialized dietetic and nutritionally modified products.
- Implement nutrition and dietetic interventions from screening to evaluation stages.
- Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate community nutrition-specific projects.
- Counsel patients on specialized dietetic interventions and evaluate outcomes.
- Develop and disseminate nutrition behavior change education and information materials.
- Implement nutrition health programs.
- Collect and compile nutrition and dietetic data.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Integrity Clearance
Successful candidates will be required to provide clearance from the following organizations:
- Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
- Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
- Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
- Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
- For degrees obtained outside Kenya: A letter of recognition from the Commission for University Education (CUE).
