‘I would sleep and tell God please take me’ – Jackie Matubia opens up on pain she underwent after breaking up with Blessing Lung’aho

Award-winning actress Jackie Matubia has for the first time opened up about the pain she went through after breaking up with her ex-lover actor Blessing Lung’aho.

In a candid interview with Dr Ofweneke, Jackie emotionally narrated how 2023 was the hardest year for her since it was the year she broke up with Lung’aho who happens to be the father to her second-born daughter.

The multi-talented actress went on to narrate how she used to wake up and find herself trending in blogs and some netizens would write mean comments about her after her break up with Lung’aho went viral.

Even though she fought reading online comments, Jackie says it hit her hard when she was a topic of discussion on their estate WhatsApp group adding that when she saw her neighbours’ mean comments about her two failed marriages it used to break her.

In addition, the mother of two stated that she was winning outside in terms of her career but dying behind closed doors.

“2023 was the hardest year of my life. I was winning out here but in those closed doors I was dying. Sometimes I was fighting not to read those comments but know that it is being discussed in groups that you are in hadi groups za estate it broke me. They were like ooh ‘huyu ameachwa shida ni yeye two marriages na watoto wawili shida ni yeye‘,”Jackie narrated.

The former TV host added that she used to break down every single day and whenever she woke up she would question God because she wanted to sleep forever adding that sometimes she used to sleep and tell God to take her.

Even after being nominated and getting back on TV as a lead actress she was breaking in side.

“It used to break me every single day I used to wake up and tell God mbona sijalala yani nilikuwa naomba nilalale na nilale forever every night. I used to sleep and tell God please take me but huku nje I just got my new show am back on TV,” she added.

Despite the challenges she faced, Jackie says she had to work on herself because of her children.

“I told myself I am done proving myself to people who don’t know me the only person I need to prove to is my children, so I have to be the best version of me and I worked on myself,” she said.
