Organization Overview

The International Centre for Reproductive Health Kenya (ICRHK) is a leading Kenya-based NGO dedicated to research and intervention projects in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH). We work in HIV/STI prevention and treatment, combat Sexual and Gender-based Violence (GBV), and improve Maternal and Child Health. Our projects span family planning, adolescent health, and more. We are currently recruiting for the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer positions in five counties.


Position Summary

ICRHK is seeking qualified and motivated MEL Officers to support an upcoming USAID Social Behavior Change project. Reporting to the MEL Specialist, the MEL Officers will lead measurement, evaluation, research, and learning activities across Malaria, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Adolescent, Child Health, Nutrition, HIV, and Global Health Security programs within assigned counties. These roles will work closely with county and sub-county health management teams to strengthen Social Behavior Change (SBC) data measurement and evaluation, collaborate with project teams, and engage stakeholders to ensure data-driven program implementation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee MEL activities related to Social Behavior Change (SBC) across health domains including Malaria, HIV/AIDS, and RMNCAH.
  • Work with county health management teams to enhance data quality, collection, and interpretation of SBC indicators.
  • Collaborate with project and field staff to design and implement MEL frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Facilitate data analysis and reporting, ensuring alignment with Kenya Health Information Systems (KHIS, eCHIS) and Ministry of Health guidelines.
  • Provide technical support on data management and reporting to project staff, and foster a culture of data-informed decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Records and Information Management, Epidemiology, Statistics, or related fields. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in monitoring and evaluation for RMNCAH, WASH, Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Global Health Security, and TB at national or county levels.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in data management and analysis software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
    • Experience with Kenya Health Information System (KHIS, eCHIS) and familiarity with Ministry of Health data indicators.
    • Experience designing MEL frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
    • Research experience and knowledge in SBC monitoring are advantageous.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
