Ingrid Andress makes bizarre comment about rehab while speaking out on her national anthem disaster at MLB Home Run Derby

Country singer Ingrid Andress made a bizarre statement about rehab because she thought it was “really fun” after sharing her story about her disastrous performance during her national anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby.

Andress went viral for all the wrong reasons Monday night after he created a fake version of the Star Spangled Banner, with fans on social media quickly calling the song “the worst national anthem ever.”

The 32-year-old later broke her silence amid backlash over her performance, revealing on Tuesday that she was drunk while singing in Texas and that she now plans to check into rehab as a result.

However, at the end of her statement about seeking help, Andress made a joke about rehabilitation.

“I’ll let you guys know how rehab goes. I hear it’s super fun,” she concluded in the post.

While the comment was likely just a sarcastic joke, several users on social media urged Andress not to downplay her situation and to emphasize the seriousness of the rehabilitation process.

‘It’s great that you admit your problem and seek help. But rehabilitation is not “super fun”,’ someone wrote on X. ‘I went to rehabilitation. It’s not fun: you have to learn new emotions and how to deal with them in real life.’

Another said: ‘I honestly belittle the people who take it very seriously when they say, “I hear detoxing is super fun” when they have an alcohol problem.’

While a third said: ‘Rehab is not “super fun”. Those who need it (really, not to save their celebrity) usually go through a medically induced detox followed by a few weeks of VERY heavy self-reflection and introspection. If you really have a problem, God bless you and I hope you get better soon.’

In the rest of her statement, Andress wrote, “I’m not going to kid you, I was drunk last night.

‘I’m going to check myself into an institution today to get the help I need. I wasn’t there last night.

“I apologize to MLB, all the fans and the country I love for this performance.”

Andress, a four-time Grammy-nominated artist, was compared to Fergie after her performance went viral for all the wrong reasons. Some claimed her performance was far worse than that of the former Black-Eyed Peas lead singer, who also faced criticism for her performance at the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.

“Ingrid Andress gives Fergie a shot at the title of worst national anthem ever performed,” someone wrote on X after the performance.

“My ears are bleeding. One of the worst national anthem performances ever,” someone else shared.

A third added: ‘That Ingrid Andress anthem might be the worst thing to happen to America in the last 48 hours #brutal.’
