A Chicago woman is dead after a shooting at a nightclub in the City’s west suburbs early Saturday. Zulma Daniela Calderon Pacheco died when a security guard at the Mansion Live Night club in Stone Park, Illinois, fired a shot while attempting to break up a fight and accidentally hit Calderon. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her death a homicide.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the nightclub located at 3801 W. Lake St., in Stone Park. Zulma and her boyfriend had gone out dancing Friday night. According to ABC 7 Chicago, a fight broke out in the nightclub around 1:39 a.m. A security guard pulled out a firearm and fired a shot during the altercation, Stone Park Police said. The shot struck and killed Calderon. Zulma was simply an innocent bystander, according to her family, and had nothing to do with the altercation. Stone Park police announced a suspect has been arrested.
A GoFundMe has been set up to aid the family with funeral expenses. Organized by Calderon’s cousin Axel, it aims to raise a total of $10,000. At the time of writing, the fundraiser had yielded over $7,000.
