Akuku Danger’s father succumbs to cancer

Kenyan comedian Mannerson Oduor Ochieng, popularly known as Akuku Danger is in mourning following the death of his father.

Taking to his Instagram account on Sunday, October 20, 2024, the heartbroken comedian shared an emotional tribute to his late father, expressing his sorrow and pain.

 Akuku further revealed how his father’s sudden death has left a deep void in their family.

“Don’t even know what to say. Go well, Dad. Our family is never going to be the same again. I wish you safe passage as you transition to the next phase. Shine on. You put up a fight,” he mourned.

The funny man did not disclose what caused his death, however, his close friend actress Sandra Dacha in an emotional tribute revealed that Akuku’s father had been battling cancer.

Sandra went on to comfort the comedian reminding him how his father was proud of him and how he always boasted about what a beautiful family he had.

Additionally, the kind-hearted actress narrated how Akuku’s dad was a kind man and a true gentleman who always put others before himself.

“Cancer, you are a monster. I cannot even begin to understand what you’re going through right now. I am deeply saddened by the news. Your dad always boasted about what a beautiful family he had. I know you meant so much to him. He was a kind man and a true gentleman, always putting others before himself. He will undoubtedly be missed. May my condolences bring you comfort, and my prayers ease the pain of this loss, Kuks,” she wrote.

His father’s death comes months after he tragically lost his sister to sickle cell disease in July 2023.

The comedian has been open about his struggles with grief following her passing, and the news of his father’s death has undoubtedly added to his emotional burden.

“Woke up to the saddest news my small siz went to be with the Lord last night. Like me, she was born with Sickle Cell disease and she succumbed to it,” Akuku said. 

“She was always smiling. Rest in peace Merwa. I still can’t come to terms with this. Till we meet again.”
