England will have to improve on a remarkable Spanish record if they are to win Euro 2024.
The Three Lions secured a second successive place in the European Championship final after coming from behind to beat the Netherlands on Wednesday.
Gareth Southgate’s men fell behind early in the game when Xavi Simons opened the scoring, but Harry Kane equalised from the penalty spot before Ollie Watkins added a final goal.
England will have to do everything they can to win their first trophy since 1996 and break a record held by the Spanish teams and their national team.
It has been 23 years since a Spanish team failed to win a final, with the only exception being a final between two LaLiga teams.

Liverpool were the last English team to play Spain in the final, after beating Alaves 5–4 in the 2001 UEFA Cup Final.
A week later, Bayern Munich defeated Valencia on penalties to win the Champions League final.
But Spanish teams have not been defeated in finals since then, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla all achieving glory on the European stage.
Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Middlesbrough have all fallen victim to Spanish clubs over the past 23 years.
However, England might be encouraged by the fact that Spain have not won a major trophy for 12 years.
La Roja won two European Championships and a World Cup in three years, but have not come close to fame since then.
Manchester United have lost the Champions League final to Barcelona twice since 2001
Arsenal are also victims of the Catalans, who lost the Champions League final in 2006.
England have the best record when it comes to head-to-head matches, having won 14 of the 27 meetings between the two teams, while Spain have won 10 and drawn three.
The last meeting between England and Spain came in the 2018 Nations League, with the latter winning 2-1 at Wembley, before the Three Lions won the reverse fixture 3-2 a week later.
