Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that grade 11 female attempt suicide after being bullied by older girls in Verulam secondary school.
Bullying Victim Attempts Suicide: Ethekweni – KZN
A female who was repeatedly bullied & assaulted at a high school in Ethekweni – Kwazulu Natal has attempted suicide by slitting her wrists & overdosing on medication this afternoon (Thursday). READ MORE HERE
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called to the home (details withheld) and found the 17 year old girl in a critical condition. She was rapidly transported to a local hospital.
When interviewed, her mother informed Reaction Officers that her Grade 11 daughter was being bullied and nothing had been done to the perpetrators. One of the assaults was recorded on a phone and had gone viral in 2024. She added that the group of bullies can be seen on this video (posted) & no disciplinary measures were taken against them.
The mother had returned from work this afternoon & forced open the door to find her daughter unconscious on the kitchen floor.
The mother further informed Officers that the bullying could not controlled & her daughter opted to end her life.
