Overview

If so, you may be the next Product Manager in the Windows Fundamentals team. We are increasing our investment in the Microsoft Nairobi office with an expanded team that will deliver critical new capabilities aimed at scaling our ability to deliver high-quality Windows experiences to users all over the world. 

  

The team’s mission is to drive great fundamentals across Windows by partnering with engineering teams on marquee experiences and empowering teams with tools and platforms to measure, refine, and ship delightful experiences at quality.

In this role you’ll continue our tradition of taking a data-driven, principled approach to quality and holding ourselves and partners to a high bar.  We invest in optics to understand product truth, define the minimum bar for each stage of the development process, and set the tone on raising our bar for delivering world class quality every time.  We partner across the company with key teams such as Teams, Edge, Office, and Surface, as well as outside the company with hardware, firmware, and software partners.  

  

As a Product Manager in Windows Fundamentals your day to day tasks will include delivering functional specs, aligning with partners and stakeholders, establishing and monitoring success metrics, reporting progress to multiple levels of organization leadership. You will work with the local PM and engineering teams and partner with the worldwide Windows organization to deliver on shared accountabilities. Your work will support 1.5B Windows users around the world.

Qualifications

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience 
  • 2+ years of experience in product/technical program management 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team to deliver on shared goals 

Preferred Qualification

  • 4+ years of experience in product/technical program management 
  • Experience writing functional specifications for technical projects 
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment 
  • Customer focused and detail-oriented 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adjust messages to different audiences 
  • Self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented 

  

Responsibilities

  • Establish measures of success for your project areas that scope the team’s work and drive toward all-up Windows Fundamentals goals. 
  • Define strategic initiatives that help us deliver on our goals of high-quality Windows experiences. 
  • Lead your PM team on day to day tasks including delivering functional specs, aligning with partners and stakeholders, establishing and monitoring success metrics, reporting progress to multiple levels of organization leadership. 
  • Partner with local engineering teams and the worldwide Windows organization to deliver on shared accountabilities.
