A woman has been stabbed to death and an emergency search has been launched for a man who fled the scene.
Emergency services were called to a house on the Great Western Highway in Kingswood, western Sydney, at 1.40pm on Monday.
A woman in her twenties was found with two stab wounds to her chest.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman at the scene before she died.
A 21-year-old man was seen running away.
The woman has not yet been officially identified.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
A crime scene has been established and detectives have launched an investigation.

A woman in her 20s was found with two stab wounds to her chest at a home on the Great Western Highway in Kingswood, Sydney’s west
NSW Police Detective Sergeant Trent King told a news conference they are searching for a man in connection with the woman’s death.
The man is described as a 21-year-old Islanders male, with a heavy build, wearing a black jacket, black pants and a red and black basketball jersey.
Detective Trent King said the man was last seen on foot, running from the unit complex.
“While it is being treated as a targeted incident, I would urge the public that if they see this individual or have any information relating to this individual, to contact Triple Zero in the first instance and not to approach him,” said Det Supt Trent King.
According to New South Wales police, there is no ongoing threat to the public.
