‘They are in office courtesy of our sweat’ – Bishop Wanjiru blasts UDA leaders

Bishop Margaret Wanjiru of the Jesus is Alive Ministries has taken a swipe at a section of leaders allied to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) over Kenya Railways Corporation’s move to repossess the land on which her church sits.

While responding to a statement on the appointment of June Ruto to Director of Foreign Service and participant at the National Defence College, Bishop Wanjiru said; “K.Railways board is full of brothers/ relatives of uda CSs. “Now, they are claiming that the church is theirs. Just a reminder, they are in office courtesy of our sweat/labour. Remember, there is God in Heaven, and He is very just. Watch the space,” she said.

Wanjiru’s remarks come months after rowdy youths claiming that they had been instructed by the railways corporation invaded the hurch and began demolishing the church.

The bishop decried that the President William Ruto-led administration betrayed her despite her ardent campaign during the 2022 General Election.

“I did not campaign for land grabbers to come and claim that our church properties are theirs. They are many of them, some say they are from the National Intelligence Service (NIS), others say they are from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and others from the police,

“The government is definitely involved and it is sad that this is the government we campaigned for,” she stated at the time.
