James Blunt joked on social media on Tuesday about the hilarious task he faces if England lose to Switzerland on Saturday.
The 50-year-old singer posted a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, of Ed Sheeran serenading the Three Lions.
He captioned the repost with the hilarious caption: “And I’m going to do the same if they lose to Switzerland.”
Fans filled the star’s comments with compliments, calling his joke “well executed.”
One fan responded with an applause gif that read, “Well played, sir.”

This came after the England stars were allowed to attend a private performance by Ed while they took a break from their Euro 2024 campaign.
The singing sensation was filmed performing a version of The A-Team for the team and staff after a warm-down on Monday.

Ed, an Ipswich Town sponsor who is worth £300million according to the Sunday Times Rich List, has visited the England squad in the past.
The 33-year-old, who attended England’s matches at this tournament, also made a personal visit to England during Euro 2020, ahead of the final against Italy.

It comes after Ed was filmed singing a version of his song ‘The A-Team’ to the England team after a warm-down on Monday
Ed was there for the 1-1 draw against Denmark in the group stage, but also for the exciting 2-1 victory over Slovakia on Sunday.
When the Three Lions were 1-0 down after just 25 minutes, he could barely hide his shock. The team feared that England would fizzle out and be eliminated from the tournament.
The photos show the star experiencing a range of emotions, from an expressionless face with his chin resting on his hand to someone partying wildly.
Ed told Mail Sport after the match that he was confident England would win the European Championship.
He was also asked if he had serenaded Jude Bellingham with his fans with the “Hey Jude” chant. He said he hadn’t done so yet, but that he would next time.
