Video footage shows a vehicle reversing out of a driveway. The car initially moves slowly but then accelerates and crashes into a pole across the street. A man standing beside the driver is knocked down by the open door and dragged under the vehicle.
Police state Williams instructed his son to press the pedal. Unfamiliar with the controls, the boy allegedly stepped on the accelerator. A neighbour mentioned Williams is recovering in hospital. The neighbour also claimed Williams said he was retrieving his keys, not teaching his son to drive, when the accident occurred.
