ITA Airways will launch a groundbreaking nonstop service between Rome (FCO) and Bangkok (BKK) starting November 16. This marks the airline’s inaugural route between Italy and Thailand, creating an exciting new travel option for leisure and business travellers.

For the first time in years, passengers will enjoy direct flights connecting the Italian and Thai capitals, thanks to ITA’s state-of-the-art Airbus A330neo. The service, operating five times a week, promises comfort and efficiency, with flights designated AZ758 and AZ759.

AZ758 will depart Rome at 3.15pm local time (8.15pm Thailand time) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, touching down in Bangkok at 7.40am local time the following day. The return flight, AZ759, will leave Bangkok at 12.15pm local time on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving in Rome at 7am local time (noon Thailand time).

This new route is part of ITA Airways’ ambitious Winter 2024/2025 expansion plan, which also includes flights between Rome and Dubai, starting on October 27, reported Airwaysmag.

ITA Airways Chief Commercial Officer Emiliana Limosani highlighted the significance of the Bangkok connection.

“The Bangkok connection represents an important step forward in ITA Airways’ development strategy. It adds another intercontinental destination and opens the doors to Thailand, a strategic market for leisure tourism and business.”

Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma, echoed this enthusiasm.

“Thailand is one of the target markets in Southeast Asia for Rome. The new route to Bangkok will be an excellent option for business travellers and tourists, boosting traffic flows and fostering collaboration opportunities between the two countries.”
