Marcus Rashford has reportedly made his plans for the future clear after being linked with a move away from Man United.

After his most productive season to date at club level in 2022-2023, Rashford failed to maintain his goalscoring form last season.

In 43 appearances across all competitions, the 26-year-old has scored just eight goals, with reports of his off-field behavior only further damaging his reputation at the club.

According to reports towards the end of the season, PSG had identified Rashford as a potential replacement for their outgoing talisman Kylian Mbappe, having previously made attempts to sign the England international.

However, Rashford is said to be determined to stay at Old Trafford this summer and acknowledged his performances were sub-par in Erik ten Hag’s second season at the club.

“Marcus knows one thing about Ten Hag and that is that he really assesses him,” says a source close to the player The sun.

‘He knows he has underperformed, but he has told his friends that he will come back strong next season.

‘He knows there could have been a new manager who could have sacked him. He doesn’t want to go anywhere and wants to get back to his best.”

Rashford’s poor club form last season also saw him excluded from Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2024 European Championship.

The decision marked the first time Rashford has missed a major tournament for the Three Lions in his senior career, having been part of Roy Hodgson’s squad at the 2016 European Championship in France at the age of 18.

The source added that Southgate’s omission from the provisional squad came as a surprise to the United star.

‘Marcus knew his position in Gareth’s Euro squad was in jeopardy as he struggled this season, but he was really shocked he didn’t even make it to 33. He thought he had enough credit in the bank.’

England have so far failed to live up to their pre-tournament billing in Germany, despite currently topping Group C.

Southgate’s tactics have been heavily criticized as his side struggle to create chances. Rashford’s brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, claimed on social media that Rashford could have been England’s attacking force.

After a dull draw against Denmark on Thursday, Maynard posted on his Instagram story: “It’s hard to sit and watch when you really believe your man can make a difference!”
