Ecuador star gives shoutout to bikini-clad fan for showing up to Copa America group game

A star Ecuador player has thanked the fans who supported the team during the Copa America in the most incredible way, after thanking a wonderful player mainly on social media.

The 22-year-old winger took on X following La Tri’s 3-1 win over the Reggae Boys in Las Vegas, after footage of the mystery woman during the match went viral on social media.

“We really appreciate the support of our fans at @CopaAmerica,” the Premier League star wrote as the caption to a post with a video of the Ecuadorian beauty in front of the Allegiant Stadium.

The Ipswich Town loanee from Brighton and Hove Albion spent the second half of last season at the Championship club, helping Tractor Boys to promotion to the Premier League.

He previously shared several clips of himself with an unknown woman on TikTok last August, suggesting he was in a relationship with her. However, it is unclear whether the player is now single.

“I see what you’re doing bro,” one user on X replied to the player’s cheeky post.

“A small change for the Southampton fans,” joked another.

“I thought this was a parody,” one person said, summing up what most people initially thought.

The potential couple would show off their matching outfits on the platform

Jeremy Sarmiento, who grew up playing for England’s youth teams, scored one goal in two games for Ecuador at the Copa America.

He scored for his country in a 2–1 defeat to Venezuela on Matchday 1 of Group B.

Ecuador must beat Mexico in the final group stage to qualify for the quarter-finals.

If Ecuador draws against Mexico, it will advance to the next round as second in the group, thanks to a slightly better goal difference.
