Comedian Kendrick Mulamwah has taken a unique approach to protesting the Finance Bill 2024. Armed with a container of mandazis and two thermos flasks of tea, Mulamwah hit the streets of Nairobi’s CBD to support hungry demonstrators.
Mulamwah explained his motive behind the act, “I’m joining the protests with mandazi and tea to help fuel the protesters,” he shared in a video on his social media.
The comedian, known for his humorous skits, showed a different side as he walked among the crowd, distributing food and engaging with the demonstrators. “We need to reject this bill for the sake of future generations,” Mulamwah urged.
Videos circulating on social media show Mulamwah interacting warmly with protesters, who quickly gathered around him, eager for the food he brought. The scene turned lively as people scrambled to get their share of the mandazis.
Mulamwah’s act of kindness did not go unnoticed, with many praising his efforts to support the cause in a practical way. By providing sustenance, he ensured that the demonstrators could continue their protest against the controversial bill.
