Raila graces Fred Omondi’s burial ceremony in Siaya

Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga on Saturday, June 29, 2024, graced Fredrick Omondi’s burial ceremony held in Sega, Bondo, Siaya County.

The opposition chief was accompanied by the county governor James Orengo and National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, Lang’ata Member of Parliament (MP) Jalang’o among other leaders.

Raila was warmly received by guests moments after he landed at the grounds on his chopper.

A section of celebrities including 2 Mbili, YY, Amberay, Dufla, and Ken Rapudo among others also attended the burial ceremony.

The latest comes a day after the comedian’s memorial service was held at the Chiromo Funeral Parlor Chapel in Nairobi.

The event was attended by notable public figures such as comedian Daniel Ndambuki alias Churchill, comedians; Akuku Danger, MC Jessy, 2 Mbili, Zeddy, and actress Sandra Dacha among others.

The late comedian died after sustaining multiple injuries in a car accident on Friday, June 14, 2024.

A postmortem released showed that he succumbed to serious head injuries after his skull cracked during the accident.

The comedian was headed home in a bodaboda along Kangundo Road when a speeding bus collided with the bodaboda.

Further details revealed by a police report disclosed that the speeding bus was headed to Nairobi CBD from Kayole while the bodaboda ferrying Fred was heading towards the opposite direction.

Consequently, there was a head-on collision injuring Fred and the rider.

“The accident happened near Caltex Petrol station on Kagundo Road,” a police report filed at Buruburu station stated.

Condolences poured in for the comedian from a section of entertainers and politicians.
